Walking along Jerrabomberra creek
This is a work in progress.
We are living on a damaged planet. This body of work was developed from walking through and along Jerrabomberra creek, starting from Dairy Rd. During these walks, questions about how we care for, value, use and discard resources sparked playful material experimentation. Collections of “non-native” opportunistic plants of abundance, such as fennel, tussocks and boxthorns, as well as “dumped” industrial material and everyday plastics have been reassembled and rebuilt. These materials become catalysts for reimagining how we perceive, understand, and relate to the world around us, speculating of futures grounded in notions of interconnection, multispecies kinship and ethics of ecological care.
