The ANU School Art & Design 2025 Graduating Exhibition showcases the work of students completing undergraduate, honours and postgraduate coursework programs at the Australian National University School of Art & Design.
This year, we are proud to present work from 64 graduating students across Visual Arts and Design, in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Our Graduating Exhibition reflects a diverse School, humming with energy. To me this year’s exhibition feels bold, tactile and textural - it celebrates and questions our shared grounding in material bodies and places.
This show reflects the effort and dedication of many in the School. I salute the curatorial team that produced the show, led by academic staff Raquel Ormella, Kate Hill and Sarah Rodigari (Visual Arts) and Naomi Hay, Baden Pailthorpe and Alia Parker (Design). Our technical team led by Emma Beer has worked tirelessly to transform the School into an exhibition space, supported by a team of dedicated casual install staff. Senior Gallery Coordinator Megan Hinton and Gallery Administrator Dan Toua have organised and run the whole operation - thank you all.
Our graduates are steered through their programs by outstanding convenors: I gratefully acknowledge Dr Peter Alwast (Master of Contemporary Art Practices and Bachelor of Visual Arts); Dr Ella Barclay (Visual Arts Honours), Dr Baden Pailthorpe (Bachelor of Design); and Dr Naomi Hay (Bachelor of Design (Honours)).
The graduating cohorts were supported by both student Grad Show and Course representatives: Isaac Kozlovskis, Remi Prica, Giselle Dunn (Grad Show reps), Lisa Stevenson, Frank Leskien and Florence Steel (Course representatives).
Finally I warmly thank the patrons of our Emerging Artists Support Scheme (EASS) and the ANU Visual Arts Endowment, who continue to support our graduating students through an array of prizes, scholarships and awards. I thank you for your ongoing support, and for stitching us and our graduates into the creative networks of our city.
Congratulations to all our graduates; we celebrate your success, and wish you well as you carry this creative energy out into the world.
