Florence Steel
Bachelor of Arts History & Curatorship and Bachelor of Visual Arts
Florence Steel is an emerging visual artist living on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. Through oil painting and multi-media installation, they explore personal and cultural relationships to the universe. Their work sits at the intersection of art history, metaphysics, and cosmology. Archetypal figures inhabit invented landscapes where transparency becomes a tool to visualise multiple subjective realities. Engaging in queerworlding, Steel’s practice deconstructs rigid systemic assumptions to reconstruct dynamic, interconnected worlds. Their work interrogates how knowledge and meaning are formed through symbolic and material processes.
