Madeleine Forner

Bachelor of Visual Arts

In this series of paintings, Madeleine explores a sensory field of colour, intersecting a language between chroma, sculptural perception and vulnerability.

field of absence is a body of work that unpacks the emotional complexity of grief through intuitive making and a focus in colour introspection. There is an intrigue towards fragmenting emotions, expanding them into abstract amorphous forms while challenging textural discrepancy with tone and movement.

There is an act of repair in the making of these works, where stitching morphs the material, offering the artist a physical connection to the act of regulation and a space to welcome healing.
