Farishta Arzoo

Bachelor of Visual Arts

The performance installation delves into the profound emotions of anguish and sorrow, seeking to render these internal experiences visible. The garment, meticulously constructed from fabric with brushes attached to the hem, is the focal point of a recorded performance. As the model moves, the brushes create marks on the surface, visually capturing the complexity and weight of these emotions.

The choice of fabric and the incorporation of brushes facilitate a direct manifestation of the emotional journey. The interaction between the body, garment, and surface transforms the piece into a dynamic medium for expressing sorrow and anguish in real-time. This relationship between the garment and its movement reinforces the overarching concept, allowing viewers to engage with the emotional narrative conveyed through the marks left behind. Ultimately, I aim to foster a deeper understanding of how these emotions permeate our lives and can be expressed through art.
