Gianni Meyers

Bachelor of Visual Arts
and Bachelor of Science

In Tracing The Unseen, Gianni weaves a web of interconnection between all living forms by exploring the intricate patterns in nature, from a macro to micro scale. She draws on the concept of the quantum worldview, a Western scientific theory that suggests that the world is a complex network of energy in which all forms are deeply interconnected. By engaging both negative and positive space, her work merges the material with immaterial to contemplate the unseen processes that structure and connect the natural world. The individual forms of the paper and plaster sculptures are inspired by biomorphic shapes, organic geometries and microscopic images. Together, they construct an intertwined, expanding system and offer a glimpse into the invisible networks to which we all belong.
